ABOUT AMY J.
Committed. Dedicated. Determined.
Amy Jablonski, known by many as "Amy J", has always had a passion for education and leadership. After graduating from the University of Charleston in West Virginia with a degree in education, Amy began her teaching career in Hickory, North Carolina where she was selected to participate in the North Carolina Principal Fellows Program at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. There she earned a Master’s in School Administration. Her commitment to educational leadership led her to Cabarrus County Schools where she held both school and district leadership roles. Amy's desire to pursue innovative practices that ensure equitable access for all students led her to a contractor position with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, initially serving approximately one-third of the public schools across the state. She later moved to Raleigh as a statewide consultant in a role that supported building academic structures to support all students in their academic experiences.
Amy’s latest role at the NC Department of Public Instruction was as a division director working with all public schools in building structures to ensure students receive academic and behavior supports, as needed, throughout their educational experience. Throughout her professional career, Amy also pursued her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This program challenged Amy to question many components of society and critically examine the role education has in our society.
Amy currently works with SWIFT, a national education technical assistance center, where she is working with schools, districts, and states across the nation to assist with implementing structures that support all learners. She continues to work with schools in North Carolina, as her passion is to continue to serve this state. Amy has received several awards for her excellence in teaching and leadership throughout her career.
Amy lives in Raleigh with her dog, Jax, and two cats, Karma and Calloway.
